How verification and ranking work
What our labels mean, what they do not mean, and how we order search results.
License verification
- A lawyer adds each license (state, type and number). The number is visible only to our review team.
- A trained reviewer checks the license with the issuing authority (for example a state bar's public member search) and records the source and date.
- “License verified” on a profile means at least one license matched an official record on the date shown. It is not a rating, endorsement or guarantee of results.
- Verified licenses are re-checked at least every 12 months. Overdue re-checks remove the verified label until completed.
- Email or phone verification never counts as license verification.
- DOJ-accredited representatives are labelled separately and are never presented as attorneys. Authority to appear before the immigration courts (EOIR) is reviewed separately from state bar status; we do not claim automated EOIR verification.
Who can be listed
A profile appears in search only after at least one license is verified and the lawyer publishes it. Unclaimed or imported listings are hidden from search until claimed and verified.
How results are ordered
- With a keyword: by text relevance to the profile's name, headline and description, then by most recent verification.
- Without a keyword: by most recent license verification.
- You can also sort by name or by self-reported years of experience.
- Paid “Sponsored” placements are shown in a separate, labelled block and never change the order of regular results.
- We do not publish “best lawyer” rankings, win rates or success claims.
Corrections and disputes
Anyone can report incorrect information, impersonation or misleading credentials from a profile or firm page. Reports are reviewed by people, not automatically. To dispute a verification, claim or moderation decision, email trust@allimmigrationlawyers.com with your profile address; a reviewer who did not make the original decision handles the request.
